Dr. Laura Rooney graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2019. She started working as a small animal primary care veterinarian in Cambridge ON shortly after graduation. In 2022 she started her own mobile practice to provide hospice care to pets part time. After having her son in 2023, she knew that she wanted to focus on providing peaceful, personal and meaningful end of life care to pets full time.
She completed additional training to become certified in peaceful euthanasia in 2024 to be able to provide the highest standard of care to her patients, and is a member of the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care.
Dr. Laura and her husband live in Guelph ON with their son, two senior cats Mustard and Randal, and their dog Walter. When not working, Laura enjoys horseback riding, photography, travelling and cooking.
Dr. Amari Patel grew up in Toronto and graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2022. In her final year of vet school, she completed a rotation with a mobile veterinarian and was surprised by how much more relaxed pets seemed to be during house-call appointments, compared to when they are taken into the clinic.
Shortly after graduation, she began working for that same mobile vet, seeing cats, dogs, and even birds, which she has had a long-standing passion for.
After performing full-service home visits for nearly 2 years, Dr. Amari developed a special interest in providing palliative and end-of-life care to all species, whether they have fur or feathers.
In her free time, Dr. Amari enjoys Ontario's natural beauty and wildlife by camping at her favourite provincial parks and hiking local trails with her partner, and of course, birdwatching.
